Leapster Explorer Tinker Bell Game Review

by Inger on July 28, 2010

Tinkerbell features in three animated movies from Disney and countless other books, toys and accessories.

The Tinkerbell and the Lost Treasure Game is Leapfrog’s newest addition to their library of Leapster Explorer games and is sure to please young fans and parents with its focus on mathematics and problem solving skills.

As with all Leapster Explorer games you can select your child’s aptitude level and they can play at that level, increasing the challenges as they learn more.

Gameplay

In Tinkerbell and the Lost Treasure Leapster Explorer game you must guide Tink from Pixie Hollow to the fabled Mirror of Incanta where she must mend the Autumn scepter broken accidentally when she was assembling it for the upcoming Spring celebration.

The game is loosely based around last year’s hit movie “Tinker bell and the Lost Treasure” and contains still images from that movie as well as sound bytes and music.

Girls and boys who loved the film will enjoy seeing the locations and characters from the film and being a part of the Quest with Tink will encourage them to succeed.

Terence the pixie dust fairy and the cute glowbug Blaze both help Tink on her Quest and skills taught include Early Algebra, multiplication, subtraction and addition.

Locations from the film include Pixie Hollow, Havendish Stream and the sunken pirate ship, each location teaching different puzzle based skills and maths problems to practice.

The much improved screen on the Leapster Explorer comes into full force with a game like Tinkerbell- being able to see the tiny pixels of pixie dust adds an element of magic to the game experience.

It is suitable for ages 5-9 years and the game play is simple but direct and results depend on brain work rather than hand eye reflex speed.

Its wonderful to see a mathematics game being full focussed on a primarily female audience, Highly recommended for fans of fairies and Tinkerbell.
