Learning Tower – A Mother’s Review

I’m going to be upfront about The Learning Tower by Little Partners.

I LOVE it.

If you have read any of the other reviews on the site you will know that there are a few requirements I need to have in a toy/accessory before I take it to my heart.

The first is durability.

If it falls apart easily then I don’t want it in my house. On that note if it is poorly designed and thought out and if kids lose interest in it quickly then it is just as useless to me.

Versatility is another characteristic that I adore in things I buy.

Toys like Lego will last a lifetime, engage my brain and can be used in thousands of different ways. Therefore it is one of my favorite toys for kids.

The Learning Tower is all these things; durable, timeless and versatile.
And a whole lot more.

If you are the parent of a young child, you will love this!

The Learning Tower

The Learning Tower seems like such a simple concept.

In essence it is a platform constructed out of wood that kids can use in a number of different ways, from standing on to reach the kitchen bench, to making a play shop or pirate ship for role play.

But the sheer ingenuity of the Learning Tower’s design and elegant construction make it an item families will cherish from the earliest days of babyhood to grandkids and beyond.

What Is The Learning Tower?

The Learning Tower by Little Partners is made of solid wood (not MDF which seems to be the construction material de jour but is toxic). This uniquely designed group of interconnecting wooden panels allows you to make a rock solid standing platform for one or two children to stand on.

Ok so what you say, a stool works just fine for me.

Let me elaborate:

1. It is rock solid-stools are not, chairs are not either.

If you have ever tried to make dinner calmly while watching over your 18 month old baby standing next to you on a chair then you can understand the value here. Rock Solid.

2. It has walls/railings that help support and contain the kids inside (see above point).

3. It is adjustable from 11 inches to 19 inches in height so provides support for a toddler to about 6 years . Children can be on your level helping you make food, cleaning up, washing dishes and generally taking part in the running of a family home pretty much from the time they can stand.

4. It has multiple uses.

As a reliable standing platform it is priceless. But the Learning Tower can be used for so much more. On it’s own it can become anything your child can imagine-the crows nest of a pirate ship, the cockpit of a space shuttle, a cave where Teddys go to sleep. With added (affordable) accessories it can also be used as an art easel, a puppet show theater or a playhouse. All without compromising it’s primary purpose of a sturdy stand.

From the youngest age your children can be a part of the family, be contributing to it rather than being a passive observer. Kids can wash the dishes, bake cookies, help you make dinner or simply read on the bench with you. The options are endless.

Kids want to be with their parents or older siblings, sharing in what they do. Having this sturdy platform in the kitchen opens their world up to countless possibilities that we as older (taller) people take for granted.

Once the kitchen chores are over you can move the tower back to their room and hang a sheet over it to make an instant world they can call their own.

If you want to really make the most of it, an easel is available for purchase separately and you can hang it on the side. It sits there like it was always a part of the tower. Then kids can use it as a chalk board or paint their masterpieces by hanging paper from clips at the top.

Another accessory kit includes an attachable roof, red curtains, and 4 theme signs to create a puppet theatre, doll house, drive-thru, or lemonade stand.

Kids can turn the Learning Tower in to an interactive play environment. It doesn’t take much to unleash a child’s imagination and often it is purely space that they require. The Learning Tower gives them a space that is theirs in which they feel comfortable to let their imaginary worlds and stories fly.

Role play helps kids learn about the world, about their place in that world and how to interact with others. By providing a space for them to play, kids will be enriched and they will pretend for hours while learning about themselves in the process.

Easy to put on and play then easy to take off, ready for the kitchen again.

We love this and would highly recommend it to just about every family who can fit it in their house. As parents, the single most rewarding thing we can give our kids to help them learn about the world is our own time.

Having the Learning Tower around means kids can share in our day to day lives and we can be sure they are safe.

When our work is done the Learning Tower becomes a place they can call their own and their learning keeps on going.
